When I got home I was sore and achy and had blisters on my hands. I immediately went online to book all the upcoming aerial workshops.
Burnout is wanting to write but having to settle for bullet points.
Once I learned that I was autistic, my mental health improved vastly.
Imagine hearing a funny joke, but having to suppress a laugh. That's how trying not to stim feels.
We are actively doing things that don't feel natural in order to fit in, while simultaneously suppressing what is real and natural.
Maybe if I can write it out then I can come to accept it.
I don't tend to realise I've pushed myself too far until I collapse.
It was my first understanding of the idea that I could stop trying to be like everybody else.
People try to influence, convince and persuade us more.
The assumption is that people truly feel they have the 'freedom to say no'.
